What Apple's Black Friday events looked like
Apple's own shopping-event pages for past years were not retrievable for this article, and the Apple Newsroom page we opened on Nov 4 showed no holiday announcement. The history below comes from news reports, so treat each date as reported, not as an Apple statement. Three details repeat across the reports we opened.

Put plainly: in each of those years the reward was store credit, not a lower price at checkout, and the window was four days. That matters for the decision below, because a gift card is only worth something if you would have spent that money at Apple anyway.
Wait or buy: a two-question flow
Rule of thumb. If waiting leaves you without a working device, the event is not worth the gamble. If you can wait, the 2025 exclusion of newly launched models is the single most useful past fact, because it points away from anything announced this fall.

The Welcome home products
Apple's Oct 13 announcement set the dates: HomePod mini 2 on Oct 30, and HomeView and the redesigned Apple TV 4K on Nov 13, with the Home Collection starting in December. If past behavior holds, a product that is two weeks old at Black Friday is a poor candidate for a gift card, so buy it for the features, not for an event.
What about other retailers?
Apple's returns page says a product bought from another retailer must be returned to that retailer, so the other store's return window applies, not Apple's. We could not open an Apple page defining "Apple Authorized Reseller," so check Apple's own site or the seller's listing, and confirm what the retailer's return rules say. Fine print worth reading
Trade-in. Apple says a trade-in estimate is valid for 14 days after you receive the new device, and that a different condition from what you described gives you a revised offer. In-store trade-ins need a valid photo ID (Apple trade-in and iPhone pages).
Carrier iPhone offers. Apple's carrier terms say credits are usually paid monthly over 36 months, can take a few bills to start, and stop if you cancel the service or pay the phone off early, which can leave a balance. Some require a new line or a trade-in that is not on an installment plan.
Returns. The Apple returns page we opened states 14 days from receipt in the section we could read and mentions no holiday extension. Check the live policy before you buy.
